One of the best things about Shuga was its soundtrack (along with the great messaging, acting, cinematography etc). The music was pumping and really profiled local talent. One of my favourite songs was from female rapper Stella Mwangi.

Very interesting perspective about entertaiment education. I don’t have a lot of experience with entertainment education, but I do work in the community with young people (primarily African American youth) who ultimately look to entertainment / media for information and influence. I have used international videos which had other cultures represented in the message with the youth that I serve. I’m not sure if the intended message had a “great” impact but it did grab the youth’s attention to ask questions, start group discussions, and have great dialogue.
